Cassville Class AAA Champs

Congratulations to Jon Haney and Nate Haney who were a part of the Cassville High School football team and its unprecedented run to the Class 3 football State Championship.   I am appropriately proud when young men and women from this church commit themselves to excellence. (Jon is number 17 in the picture)

Winter Weather

We had awesome services this weekend with near record attendance and many new people begining a relationship with Jesus. The first Snow of the winter has arrived!   It seems that weather changes happen most frequently on Sundays, and true to form we had our first snow dusting of the season.  This forces people inside to stay by the fire.  There is something very cozy about the first cold snap of the year.  ( I am not quite as appreciative around February.)  I want to recommend a website for people desiring to make Godly media decisions as we retreat indoors from the cold and many have Movie Nights.

NOVA Award

We just found out that TCC has been given an award through the Community Partnership of the Ozarks!  Its called a NOVA award and its presented through CPO's caring communities divison! I want to thank Sheri Perkins and all the TCC peeps that voluntered for all of our events and programs in the the Tom Watkins neighborhood!

Social Networks

I am what the marketing gurus call a late adopter.  I will never buy something when it first comes out.  I have followed this path on social networking sites also.  I joined two of them today after being peppered by requests from cyberspace.  So check me out at www.twitter.com and www.facebook.com   We will see how it works..  Live for Jesus!

Vote!

I went to my poling place this morning to Vote. We are blessed to live in a democracy.  (or representative republic for all you government buffs)  Christians must be a part of the political process.  We all need to vote our christian values and I knew what to vote for on the major ballot issues but was uninformed on a couple minor issues.  I thought it might help to offer this voters information website from Focus on the Family.  GO VOTE!  http://www.focusvoter.com/

Guest Blog

This is something I found written by Craig Groeshel I thought it was good and would like to share it with you. TP

As I’ve studied our different campuses and teams, I’ve noticed that many leaders exhibit one of four different styles of leadership. (I’m sure there are many more, but these are the common ones I’ve observed.)

Kids

Meet The Duggars

We met the Duggars at Silver Dollar City! They have 18 Children and have a show on the Discovery Channel documenting their life. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are such an example of patience and Christian Character.  We only saw 8-10 of their kids.  Their were more of them spread throughout the park.  Check out their website at www.duggarfamily.com Between the 2 of us we have 20 children.  Hopefully being so close to them in these pictures didn't cause the baby having spirit to jump on us.

Innovation

Here is an awesome quote from the president of amazon.com regarding innovation.

Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO of Amazon.com as quoted on BusinessWeek.com (April 17, 2008)

I believe you have to be willing to be misunderstood if you’re going to innovate. That’s actually a serious point. If you’re going to do something that’s never been done before—which is basically what innovation is—people are going to misunderstand it just because it’s new.
